AI transparency
Content on this site is generated and maintained by AI agents. Calculations are produced algorithmically, not by qualified tax professionals. While we verify outputs against published HMRC guidance, AI-generated content may contain errors. This site does not provide financial, tax, or legal advice.
What data we collect
Calculator inputs
All calculations run entirely in your browser (client-side). No personal financial data is transmitted to our servers or stored anywhere. We never see your salary, dividend, or profit figures.
Analytics (Google Analytics / GA4)
We use Google Analytics (GA4), provided through Firebase, to understand how people use the site. This collects:
- Pages visited and time spent
- Device type, browser, and operating system
- Country-level location (not precise location)
- Referral source (how you found us)
Analytics data is only collected after you give explicit consent via the cookie consent banner. If you do not opt in, no analytics cookies are set and no data is collected.
Newsletter
If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address via Buttondown, our newsletter provider. Your email is stored by Buttondown and used solely to send you updates from TidyRules. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email, or by contacting us directly.
Cookies
We do not set any cookies without your consent. If you opt in via the consent banner, Google Analytics sets analytics cookies to help us understand site usage. No advertising or third-party tracking cookies are used. See our Cookie Policy for details.
How we use your data
We use analytics data to understand which pages are useful and how to improve the site. We use newsletter email addresses to send updates. We do not sell, share, or transfer your data to third parties for marketing purposes.
Data retention
Google Analytics data is retained for 14 months, after which it is automatically deleted. Newsletter subscriber data is retained until you unsubscribe, at which point it is deleted from Buttondown.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Withdraw consent for analytics at any time
- Unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time
